ABOUT THE PROJECT
This project involves the implementation of a series of national and international meetings on structured dialogue, strengthening urban youth councils and creating international and interdisciplinary partnerships. Youth councils from the cities of Třinec, Karviná, Orlová, Kopřivnice and Vratimov are participating in the project.
Each Youth Council will be represented by young people aged 13-24. The project is supported by local politicians and local authorities. The project also includes international activities. Two meetings will take place in the Czech Republic with a partner from Poland. Young people from city youth councils from the Śląskie Voivodeship will participate.
OBJECTIVE
to increase the potential of youth youth councils through training in the work and cooperation of urban youth councils with other partners who can support and develop the activities of the councils.
The project will be an opportunity to discuss and test different strategies for collaboration and building a structured dialogue in relation to the norms in place in other youth councils. We want
equip young people with competences and skills that will enable them to participate actively in society through cooperation between young people, youth NGOs and decision-makers – to this end, meetings will be held with NGO representatives during the project.
PROJECT OBJECTIVE
– increasing the effectiveness and transparency of urban youth councils
– the visibility and role of youth councils, including among young people
– creating know-how for dialogue between decision-makers and young people
– the creation of a space for the exchange of experience, knowledge and best practice in this field involving young people in decision-making and civic action
– exchange of best practices in the field of youth council activities
– Awareness of the role of active participation in social life, as well as the rights and obligations arising from active citizenship of our countries and membership of the European Union and the role of youth in modern Europe
The whole project will be based on the principles of non-formal education. International cooperation and tools such as the Oxford Debates, the Word Café, etc. will play a key role in the development of the recommendations. The participants will combine theoretical and practical knowledge.
The project will have an impact on the target audience, i.e. young people involved in the activities of the city’s youth councils, partner organisations and policy makers. These activities will have a positive impact on the perception of social activities and on the perception of structured dialogue.
