This project aimed to provide youth workers with useful and practical tools and information
about how to motivate, train and empower young people in their communities, to find
inspiration, new ideas, alternative economy and labour models, to face the high
unemployment rates and overcome obstacles to do business in rural areas.
The objectives of this project were:
- To learn, apply and teach Agrotourism, for the sustainable development of rural areas.
- Facilitate youth entrepreneurship, through the identification of the keys to a successful
entrepreneurship, in Agri-tourism. - Define innovative insights and develop a new initiative for international collaboration,
between partners, in the near future.
Implementation
The main activity of the project was an 8-days course that was held in Penagos, Spain. It
contained 5 different modules:
M1: INTRODUCTION TO RURAL DEVELOPMENT
M2: AGRITOURISM: INNOVATIVE INITIATIVES FOR THE REVIVAL OF RURAL AREAS
M3: THE INTEGRATION OF LIVESTOCK BREEDING, HARVESTING AND TRADITIONAL FISHING IN
THE FARM.
M4: DESIGN OF SUSTAINABLE PROJECTS AND BUSINESSES Day 6
M5: NEW AGRITOURISM PROJECTS AND EVALUATION
The course was attended by 24 participants from 10 different entities that selected them
among interested youth workers through a public process.
Results
Participants acquired basic knowledge on:
-Agrotourism
-Project design and management.
-Group facilitation and team development: how to build project teams, deep listening and
charismatic communication techniques, participatory leadership, constructive feedback to
team members. And connecting team members through celebration.
-How to be more proactive, confident, more supportive, practical vision of agrotourism, life
and language.
